OUR CLIENT
Our client is Boundless Life, a Canadian-headquartered company that delivers integrated living, coworking and education experiences tailored to remote-working families. Amesto Global began working with the client shortly after the incorporation of their Spanish entity, which marked the latest step in their strategic expansion across Europe and Asia.
THE CHALLENGE
As the client continued to scale internationally, it became clear that a more integrated, operational model was needed to support sustainable growth across regions. In Spain, the company had only recently been incorporated and was still in the process of laying the foundational structure. Payroll processes had not yet been set up, VAT registrations were pending and core workflows for financial systems such as Xero and related tools were still to be designed and implemented. In short, the house had been built, but the internal systems and processes required to make it functional were still under construction.
At the same time, the client was already operating in other markets using various local providers. While this approach enabled fast market entry, it also resulted in fragmented processes, inconsistent reporting and limited group-level visibility. The absence of clear procedures and guidance in these jurisdictions led to internal frustration and inefficiencies. The client was determined not to replicate these issues in Spain. Instead, they saw the Spanish entity as an opportunity to establish a structured, scalable model from the outset, one that could ultimately guide improvements in other regions.
This dual challenge of setting up from scratch in Spain while also creating cohesion across fragmented systems in multiple jurisdictions underscored the need for a coordinated, cross-border financial strategy to support the company’s rapid growth and evolving operational model.
OUR SOLUTION
Amesto Global quickly took on a central role, working in close coordination with the client’s internal team to define immediate priorities and long-term solutions. The first priority was to complete the full integration of the newly incorporated Spanish entity, a process led and managed by Amesto Global’s local team in Barcelona. This foundational phase in Spain included:
- Defining financial and operational frameworks
- Payroll setup and onboarding
- Defining workflow and month-end close processes
- VAT registration
- Implementation of Xero
- Restructuring the existing chart of accounts to ensure consistent reporting across all existing business units
In addition to setting up the local structure, Amesto Global provided clear and consistent guidance on all tax filings, financial concepts and statutory deadlines. This included support for ongoing compliance with local requirements and assistance with intercompany transactions, two areas that are particularly complex for international companies scaling rapidly across borders.
Spain became a testing ground for what an integrated, automated and scalable financial setup could look like. By leveraging Xero as the core accounting platform, Amesto Global helped the client build a streamlined financial backbone - one that would later inform how the other markets were supported. The successful implementation and operational stabilization of the Spanish entity served as a model for transforming the company’s manual and inconsistent workflows elsewhere.
