Australian Headquartered Film Production Company Seeking US Expansion

Our client is an Australian based film production company who was seeking to open operations in the US due to the high demand of film projects. Unsure how to navigate the red tape of setting up shop in the US, the client called up Amesto Global to assist with their international expansion. Since 2022, Amesto Global is offering a market entry and growth support solution to help the client establish and scale their footprint in the US.

Our client is a Nordic based SaaS company who has recently experienced vast growth in Europe. As they expanded their operations into four European countries, they started to experience major pain points. From multiple ERP systems in each jurisdiction, to little to no access to local accounting & payroll systems and the lack of local statutory compliance knowledge, the client was struggling to manage their international operations while driving commercial growth in their core domestic market.

Overwhelmed by their current operations, the client was interested in meeting with Amesto Global to discuss ways they could alleviate some of their current headaches outside of the Nordics. Hesitant to bite off more than they could chew, the client started small, bringing on Amesto Global to handle payroll services in one of the four countries.

After direct, regular communications with our Partner-led team and in-person visit to ensure operations were running as smooth as possible, the client quickly became comfortable with us as a firm. They then engaged our team to oversee the company’s multi-country payroll processing & HR Administration functions in all four countries as well as manage the company’s US accounting & financial reporting. Not long thereafter, Amesto Global was asked to handle aspects of the company’s international operations in all four existing countries and one new jurisdiction.

The client is a NASDAQ listed company and US market leader for tax software. The client expanded to Europe initially with an office in the United Kingdom and subsequently with expansion to France, Spain, Italy, Poland and Luxembourg in early 2020. The client also closed an acquisition in Germany in May 2021 with four other entities outside Germany in Turkey, Romania, Italy and France. Amesto Global is delivering the following solutions:

  • Processing the day-to-day US GAAP accounting of all entities centrally in Ireland;
  • Month-end closings and US GAAP financial reporting to the client’s headquarters in the USA;
  • Ensuring that all local/ statutory compliance and filing requirements are met in all countries with the assistance of local partner firms;
  • HR administrative and payroll processing services for the client’s employees in the various countries;
  • Complete coordination of services and ongoing assistance through one point of contact;
  • For the German acquisition and its European subsidiaries, we have designed and digitally transformed all accounting functions to a centrally maintained US GAAP accounting platform. The main purpose is to allow for a faster US GAAP reporting and to increase visibility of the local operations.

Wellness Co. is a North American company based out of Toronto. The first time international expansion occurred in Quarter 1 of 2018 due to a deal negotiated with large EU purchasing house. This transaction drove the need for an EU entity and Ireland was the chosen location. Oonagh Hayes, together with her team, delivered a solution within a six-week period together with all the in-country back office support together with a warehousing solution.

The company now has a logistics & warehouse facility which is the central hub for all Europe.

Due to the continuous growth of sales throughout Europe, this in turn triggered Vat Registration in several EU entities and Amesto Global is providing the solutions for all of these registrations.

In Q2 2020, the client listed on the Norwegian stock exchange raising additional capital to accelerate its global expansion. Since then, Amesto Global successfully assisted the client with its expansion to Australia, Singapore, Japan, France, Germany and The Netherlands. Amesto Global is delivering the following solution:

  • Market entry support including but not limited to, assistance with the set-up of the local entity, (tax) registrations, opening of bank accounts, insurances, employee benefits etc.
  • Processing the day-to-day accounting of all entities centrally in Ireland on the client’s ERP system;
